Cognitive effects on decision-making processes - David Redish

Tuesday, 9 September, 2014 - 11:30 to 13:00

Current technology allows the manipulation and recording of large neural ensembles in awake, behaving rats.  Using mathematical analyses of these large ensembles, we have been able to identify cognitive events in decision-making rats, such as deliberation, the development of habit, and regret.  I will present our latest work looking at the neural processing mechanisms underlying these cognitive events, and I will discuss their consequences on decision-making processes.
