Heather Eisthen is currently an Associate Professor of Zoology at Michigan State University. She earned her Ph.D. at Indiana University, studying the evolution of the vomeronasal system, before becoming a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California, San Diego, where she studied comparative neuroanatomy and embryology. After leaving UCSD, she worked as a research associate the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, MA where she learned to use electrophysiological methods to study olfactory system function before moving to MSU in 1997.
