Summer School

BCBT is positioned at the interface between cognitive systems, robotics, biology,  neuroscience and technology

BCBT offers a great opportunity to learn and exchange ideas with researchers from different fields.

Fun at the beach of Barcelona!

BCBT addresses students and researchers involved in research in the ambit of  “Bio-ICT convergence” "Brain Inspired ICT" and “cognitive systems and robotics”.

BCBT offers a multi-disciplinary research environment where students get involved in several projects proposed by the BCBT scientific commitee.

Invited scientists discuss their research topics for the CSN podcast. Click here to listen and subscribe to our growing public archive of interviews on neuroscience, autonomous systems...

COMING SOON: BCBT2013 next september!

BCBT is an annual international summer school that promotes a shared systems-level understanding of the functional architecture of the brain and its possible emulation in artificial systems. BCBT addresses students and researchers involved in research at the interface between brains and technology such as in the ambit of  “Bio-ICT convergence” "Brain Inspired ICT" and “cognitive systems and robotics”. BCBT2012 is co-organized and supported by the European project Convergent Science Network of Biomimetic and Biohybrid Systems, CSN, and by eSMCs - Extending Sensory-Motor Contingencies to Cognition”. Students will have the opportunity to attend lectures from prominent scientists in the field of brain research, neuroscience, artificial intelligent and related fields. Students will also attend tutorials and work on projects that will be presented at the end of the 2 weeks of the summer school. This year CSN has awarded 4 scholarsip for BCBT

First week

Engineering Principles in Biological Systems: Locomotion and Affect.

Morning: Lectures
Afternoon/Evening: Tutorials:
simulation techniques, robot control techniques, experimental design, analysis methods, etc. Combined with work on projects.

Full 1st week program

Second week

Sensory-Motor Contingencies (SMC) in perception, cognition and action.

Morning: Lectures
Afternoon/Evening: Tutorials,
project work, and final presentation.
